Vitality Sexual Enhancement Supplement Recalled
On February 20, 2025, One Source Nutrition recalled all lots of Vitality capsules after FDA analysis found the supplements to contain undeclared prescription drugs sildenafil and tadalafil, which are not permitted in dietary supplements.
(See ConsumerLab's Sexual Enhancer Supplements Review for tests of related products.)
Sildenafil (the active ingredient in Viagra) may cause symptoms like headache and flushing and can interact with medications containing nitrates such as nitroglycerine, resulting in dangerously low blood pressure.
Tadalafil (the active ingredient in Cialis) is an ingredient in FDA approved products in the family of drugs known as phosphodiesterase (PDE-5) inhibitors and are prescribed for erectile dysfunction. This drug can cause symptoms like headache and flushing and can interact with medications containing nitrates such as nitroglycerin, resulting in dangerously low blood pressure.
Recalled Vitality capsules (see product photos) can be identified as a single pill in an orange and gray package with blue writing. The packaging does not provide lot numbers or expiration dates. Vitality was promoted for male sexual enhancement and distributed nationwide to retail outlets from a wholesale distributor.
Consumers should return the recalled capsules to the place of purchase and contact their physician or healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related using them. Adverse reactions can also be reported by consumers and healthcare providers through the FDA’s MedWatch Voluntary Reporting Program.
