Essential Oil Sold on Amazon Recalled
On January 2, 2025, Euqee Wintergreen Essential Oils, sold on Amazon were recalled because the packaging is not child-resistant and may pose a risk of poisoning for young children.
(See ConsumerLab’s Lavender and Tea Tree Essential Oils Review for tests of related products.)
Because Euqee Wintergreen Essential Oil contains methyl salicylate, it is required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA) to be in child-resistant packaging.
Recalled Euqee Wintergreen Essential Oils were sold exclusively on Amazon by DLWL-US from December 2023 through August 2024. The oils are packaged in amber glass bottles with a black screw-on cap in the size of 118 ml. A white label printed on the front on the bottle states: “Euqee, Essential Oil, Premium Grade, 100% Pure Plant Extract and Wintergreen.”
Consumers who purchased recalled Euqee Wintergreen Essential Oils should immediately secure them in a place that is out of reach of children. Consumers may also contact DLWL-US for a full refund. DLWL-US and Amazon.com are contacting all known purchasers directly.
