Hard Steel Supplements for Men Recalled

On July 12, 2024, Supercore Products Group issued a recall of Hard Steel Capsules and Gold Hard Steel Liquid which are used for male erectile dysfunction. The FDA analysis found the capsules to contain sildenafil and acetaminophen.

(See ConsumerLab's Sexual Enhancer Supplements Review for tests of related products.)

Sildenafil (the active ingredient in Viagra) is prescribed for erectile dysfunction. This drug can cause symptoms such as headaches and flushing which can interact with medications containing nitrates such as nitroglycerine. This drug can also interact with certain drugs prescribed for diabetes or high blood pressure, resulting in dangerously low blood pressure. Acetaminophen is an over-the-counter (OTC) pain reliever that can cause a rare, but potentially fatal skin reaction, and, in large doses, liver damage.

The recalled products were sold online worldwide. Affected Hard Steel Capsules are sold in 10, 20, or 30 capsule-count packages during the purchase of between January 5th, 2024, through July 5th, 2024. The capsules may be blue and white or black and gold. Affected Gold Hard Steel Plus Liquid, also sold as Hard Steel Gold 2oz Liquid Shots are sold in black and gold bottles.

Those taking Hard Steel Capsules and Gold Hard Steel Plus Liquid are advised to stop use immediately.

The company is notifying consumers via email, arranging for return of the products.

Consumers should contact their healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems related to taking these drug products. Consumers and or healthcare providers are advised to report any adverse reactions to the FDA's MedWatch Voluntary Reporting Program by fax, mail, or online.
