Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Recalled Due to Potential for Glass Bottle to Break

On April 19, 2024, Primal Kitchen issued a recall of approximately 2,060 cases of Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil (750 mL) because the glass bottle may be prone to breaking. The issue was discovered after monitoring the company warehouse, which found that avocado oil leaked in shipping containers.

Recalled Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil (see product photos) were sold in the eastern United States, California, and online nationally. They are packaged in 750 mL glass bottles and can be further identified by the following:

  • UPC number: 8-5523200719-4
  • Case UPC: 108552320071910000
  • “Best When Used By” Date: 19 Aug 2025 through 21 Aug 2025.

Consumers who have the recalled product should dispose of it.

Note: This recall does not include the Primal Kitchen product tested by ConsumerLab in its Review of Avocado Oils (Primal Kitchen California Extra Virgin Avocado Oil, 8.45 fl oz -- about 250 mL), which is a different grade of oil and bottle size than the recalled product.
