On January 18, 2023, the FDA issued a warning letter to Buzzagogo, LLC, after the company’s Allergy Bee Gone for Kids nasal swab products were found to be contaminated with bacteria that have the potential to cause life-threatening illness.

FDA laboratory analysis determined Allergy Bee Gone for Kids product was contaminated with bacillus sp., including B. cereus, B. amyloliquefaciens, B. atrophaeus, and others, which could cause potentially life-threatening illnesses in infants, young children, and others with weakened immune systems who may be more at risk for severe forms of these illnesses.

Allergy Bee Gone for Kids nasal swabs were also recalled in 2022 due to contamination with Bacillus cereus.

Buzzagogo was also warned by the FDA for promoting products to prevent or treat disease with statements such as, “Allergy Bee Gone for Kids is a homeopathic remedy that you swab in your nose to fight nasal allergy symptoms, inflammation and to protect your Booger Biome . . .. The super honeys in Allergy Bee Gone for Kids are anti-inflammatory, prebiotic, probiotic.” and “ …helps alleviate common cold symptoms.”

Buzzagogo is required to respond to the FDA within 15 days of receipt of the warning letter outlining steps the company has taken to address these violations.
