FDA Warns Parents Not to Use Mother's Touch Infant Formula
On September 6, 2022, the FDA warned parents and caregivers not to buy or give Mother’s Touch Formula to infants. According to the agency, the formula has not been fully tested for the presence of potentially harmful bacteria, and does not meet infant formula requirements for protein, linoleic acid, calcium, sodium, potassium, and chloride. In addition, the formula is labeled as containing more iron than permitted for infant formula.
The formula, which is being marketed without the required pre-market notification to the FDA, was sold directly from Mother’s Touch website, as well as in local markets in Kinzers, Loganton, and Gap, Pennsylvania (see product photos here).
Parents and caregivers who have purchased this product should discontinue use and throw it away. Those who have used this product and are concerned about the health of their infant should contact their health care provider.
