Sexual Enhancement Supplement Sold on Amazon Recalled
On July 21, 2022, Ultra Supplements LLC issued a recall of one lot of Sustango capsules after Amazon laboratory analysis found the presence of the prescription drug Tadalafil. The company has received no reports of adverse effects related to this recall to date.
Tadalafil (the active ingredient in Cialis) is an ingredient in FDA approved products in the family of drugs known as phosphodiesterase (PDE-5) inhibitors and is prescribed for erectile dysfunction. These drugs can cause symptoms like headache and flushing and can interact with medications containing nitrates such as nitroglycerin, resulting in dangerously low blood pressure.
Recalled Sustango capsules were promoted for male sexual enhancement and sold nationwide through Amazon. They are packaged in 10-count blister packs in a carton (see product images), and can be further identified by the following:
- Lot #: DAP272109
- Exp: 4/1/26
- ASIN XOO2446819
Ultra Supplement is notifying distributors and customers via press announcement and Amazon Messaging and is arranging for return of the capsules.
Consumers who purchased affected lots should stop using the product. Consumers and healthcare providers can report any adverse reactions through the FDA’s MedWatch Voluntary Reporting Program.
