Hand Sanitizer Labeled as "Edible" Recalled
On September 3, 2020, CorgioMed LLC recalled one lot of Leafree Instant Hand Sanitizer Aloe Vera because they are labeled "edible alcohol." Hand sanitizers can be toxic if ingested, and can cause lack of coordination, slowed or slurred speech, drowsiness, coma, or death. Children may also experience decreased blood sugar which may lead to death. Alcohol consumption during pregnancy can lead to birth defects and developmental disabilities, and consumption during nursing can also lead to impaired development.
