FDA Finds Prescription Drug Analog in 3 Enhancement Supplements
On April 20, 2012, the U.S. FDA advised consumers not to purchase or use the following supplements from Enhance Nutraceutical: "Instant Hard Rod," "RigiRx Plus," and "Zen Maxx." FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that each contains aminotadalafil. Aminotadalafil is an analog of tadalafil, an FDA approved prescription drug used to treat Erectile Dysfunction (ED). This drug may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates.
