Our Members Asked:
What is Lutigold Lutein? And why is the capsule of one brand of lutein so much larger than that of another brand, if the amount of lutein on the label is the same?
Answer:
Lutigold lutein is a trademarked brand of lutein which includes a small amount of zeaxanthin (800 mcg per 20 mg of lutein). Lutein typically makes up only a small amount (less than 10%) of the material inside capsules, so capsule size will depend more on the other ingredients in the product (including inactive ingredients such as oils) than on the amount of lutein.
