Answer:
Relief Factor is a dietary supplement promoted for relieving "everyday aches and pains." According to the manufacturer, the packets, which consist of two capsules and two softgels, should be taken three times daily until "discomfort moderates," after which time the packets should be taken twice daily.
No clinical studies have shown that the combination of ingredients in Relief Factor can reduce any specific type of pain. Certain ingredients in Relief Factor — including resveratrol, turmeric, and fish oil — might help relieve pain related to some, but not all, conditions, although the amount of these ingredients in Relief Factor may be too low to achieve benefit. Furthermore, these ingredients can be obtained individually at a cheaper cost. One of the ingredients in Relief Factor has no strong evidence of benefit for pain relief and it might reduce the effectiveness of certain prescription medications. Sign in for more details.

January 27, 2024Relief factor has worked for me. Reduced body aches and stiffness. I agree that individual products can be purchased cheaper and better quality. I simply like the ease of the packets. However, is convenience worth it? Thanks for the analysis. i have no financial interest in Relief Factor.

October 05, 2023I started using Relief Factor a month ago. Most of the time I have significant pain in my right hip joint. It took about a week but I noticed a great deal of relief from pain. I don't take Ibuprofen or it's like for pain. Today I walked into the office without a limp for the first time in years. I guess just like anything else it depends on the individual for results.

September 17, 2023I agree with the above comments. The commercials try to make your decision for their product.

November 13, 2022Thank you Consumer Lab for answering my questions about Relief Factor. Sad how we have to question everything that we see on infommercials.

October 21, 2022In my experience, and in the experience of many of my patients, Relief Factor provided significant relief from musculoskeletal complaints, chronic and acute. Some people obtained no benefit, and I didn't see a variable common to the non-responders. The cost is certainly an issue, but the individual ingredients can be cobbed together online at any one or several of the big discount retailers.
I have no financial state in the Relief Factor product, or any other supplement company.

August 30, 2022Thank you everyone and CL for reviewing this product. I was on the fence about ordering it, but since I am already taking fish oil, MSM, glucosamine, and B12, I am only having moderate discomfort at 71, and for the cost, I will do as some others are doing, will stick to what I am taking. Thank you CL for reviewing this product!!

August 27, 2022I have subscribed to you for years and trust your testings and passing them on to us. I have also considered Relief Factor but will stick with my Nordic Natural fish oil, Everflex for joints and Vit
B12. Taken these for years and works for me.

August 25, 2022Any 'supplement' that spends so much money on advertising by high profile personalities is suspicious to me. If it was as 'miraculous' as the advertisements tend to suggest it wouldn't take the level of advertising that Relief Factor promotes. Like others I have wondered about the benefit of relief factor. This is helpful to me. Thank you Consumer Lab.

August 22, 2022I am very suspicious when I see or hear the word "support" in supplement advertisements, especially when there is never an explanation of HOW the alleged support is accomplished. Anecdotal support stories are absolutely worthless, second only to astrological musings!!!
Your suspicion is not misplaced. The FDA allows companies to make these types of claims, e.g., that a supplement may support or maintain a certain bodily function. These are known as "structure/function" claims. Companies that make them are required to have information to back them, but do not have to submit the information to the FDA.

August 16, 2022I have found that the ingredients in Relief Factor work quite well together to relieve pain. Icarin has been shown to up regulate SIRT1, (Mol Med Rep 2015 Jan;11(1):269-76. doi: 10.3892/mmr.2014.2679. Epub 2014 Oct 16.), so its inclusion in the formula may have been synergistic for enhancing repair. As noted in the review, the ingredients can be cobbed together at less cost. I have been doing so for years.
I have no financial interest in Relief Factor, or any supplement manufacturers.

August 16, 2022fwiw-I tried this (I bought separate ingredients). I already sup with several of its ingredients. I added the root2 tumeric rec'd by CL and horny goat weed. I tried it for 6 wks w not noticeable effect. I have found an effect with Cousamin ASU (not DM), but not regular glucosamine and chondroitin. and I take 1-2 naproxen per day. it's heart related effects are not the same as advil.

August 16, 2022Unfortunately, in my experience, Relief Factor did little or nothing to lower the pain in my shoulder caused by a fall. I’m male and 55. I may try the suggestions in this article.
Thank you Consumerlab.
FYI, I have no financial interest in Relief Factor, a competitor, or ConsumerLab.
