Immunocal is much more expensive than other whey protein isolates - is it worth the extra cost?
Answer:
Immunocal, also known as HMS90 (Immunotec Inc.) is a patented whey protein isolate that has been shown to raise levels of glutathione in people. However, regular whey protein isolates contain the same amino acids (particularly cysteine) as in Immunocal that help raise glutathione in the body. Immunocal costs up to five times as much as other whey protein isolates, and there is not enough evidence to suggest it provides an advantage over less expensive brands.
