Our Members Asked:
What is pterostilbene? Can it really improve cardiovascular and cognitive health?
Answer:
Pterostilbene is an antioxidant compound found in grapes, blueberries, and heartwood (Pterocarpus marsupium). It is chemically related to resveratrol, and can be found in some resveratrol supplements, although it is also sold as a single ingredient supplement.
Unfortunately, many of the uses for which pterostilbene is promoted are not supported by clinical evidence. For details, see information about Pterostilbene within the Resveratrol Supplements Review.
